Donate for Lions

The lion is the king of the animals. He reigns over them all with characteristics such as a 250 kg body weight, 3 meter body length and shoulder height of 1 meter. Lions are intelligent animals and are said to be the most social of all wild cats, as they live and hunt in packs of up to 30.
In 1980 it was estimated that there were around 250.000 lions. This number has rapidly declined since then by 90%, leaving only 20.000 to 30.000 cats left. The lion was ranked at level 3 of endangered species by the IUCN, which means that they are slightly endangered, but not in threat of extinction. However, if the lion populationis to continue to sink there will be barely any free roaming lions left. The three main reasons for the endangerment are hunting trophies, confrontations with farmers and diseases like LLV and FIV viruses. One must act now.

Donate for African Wild Dogs

The African Wild Dog is the most seldom mammal in Africa and also the most endangered species. It is only around 0.9m long and weighs 25kg. Its colorful fur tends to be an eye-catcher. LycaonPictus, the Latin name for this animal, means exactly that: colorful dog. Wild dogs hunt in packs and only when movement is detected. Hence, the moment prey moves, the pack will hunt it down.
The African Wild Dog is highly endangered. It is ranked at level 7 on the IUCN’s ranking of the most endangered species. Main reasons for a risky endangerment are man-hunt of wild dogs. They are mostly hunted to ensure the population of prey and prevent diseases such as rabies and distemper that were ironically brought to national parks by domestic animals.

Donate for Leopards

Leopards are said to be the most intelligent wild cats. Their size and weight vary depending on their habitat. They tend to be a relatively small wildcat species, although they are a bit larger and stronger than cheetahs. Leopards are loners and very adaptable. In times of need, they even resort to insects as nourishment.
Because of their high adaptability, leopards are the least endangered of all wildcats. However, man is a huge threat because of their exquisite fur and the fear that they will hunt down and kill domestic pets. Thus, leopards are ranked level 5-6 by the IUCN, which means that they are threatened to very threatened by endangerment.
